Our services

Mowing, Edging and Trimming

Mowing your lawn maintains an optimal height for grass, promoting healthy growth and an attractive appearance.

Regular mowing is essential because dull blades can tear the grass, resulting in a ragged look. We ensure our mower blades are always sharp and mow when the grass is dry to prevent clumping and uneven cuts.

Edging creates a clean line along the borders of your lawn, separating it from driveways, sidewalks, and flower beds. This gives your lawn a polished and well-defined look, accentuating its shape and simplifying mowing by preventing grass from invading adjacent areas.

Every lawncare visit includes mowing, edging, trimming and blowing of all grass clippings.

Bush & Shrub Trimming

Trimming bushes and shrubs is crucial for maintaining their health, appearance, and the overall aesthetics of your landscape.

Regular trimming removes dead, diseased, or overgrown branches, allowing for better sunlight and air circulation. It also enhances the curb appeal of your property.

  • Remove Deadwood: Eliminate dead or diseased branches.
  • Thin Out Overgrowth: Improve air circulation by removing crowded branches.
  • Shape and Maintain Size: Trim to keep the desired shape and size.

Ornamental Tree Trimming

Ornamental trees bring beauty and elegance to your landscape, and proper trimming is crucial to maintain their health and visual appeal.

The goal of ornamental pruning is to keep the tree’s size manageable while enhancing its appearance. This involves removing old, faded flowers and fruit to encourage more flower buds for the next season, and thinning out branches to improve air and sunlight penetration, which helps prevent fungal growth.

Different ornamental trees have unique timing requirements based on their growth patterns, making precise and careful pruning essential.

Pine Straw & Mulch

Pine straw offers effective weed control, helping to keep your landscape neat and tidy.

It also retains soil moisture, reducing the need for frequent watering, and keeps plant roots cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Additionally, the reddish hue of long pine needles can enhance the visual appeal of your garden.

  • Weed Control: Suppresses weed growth by blocking sunlight.
  • Moisture Retention: Reduces water evaporation from the soil.
  • Nutrient Addition: Adds organic matter to the soil as it decomposes.
  • Erosion Prevention: Helps prevent soil erosion.

Leaf Cleanup

While leaving leaves in their natural state can benefit your property’s ecosystem, removing excess leaves is essential for keeping your lawn well-maintained.

A thick layer of leaves can block sunlight, oxygen, and nutrients from reaching the grass, potentially causing it to die. In the spring, accumulated leaves can inhibit new growth and promote snow mold diseases.

Lingering leaves can also stain walkways and decks. By raking your leaves, you ensure a manicured look for your lawn and help limit unwanted critters, such as ticks and animals like mice, from getting too close to your home.

Spring & Fall Cleanup

Spring and fall yard cleanup are essential for maintaining a healthy and attractive outdoor space.

A well-maintained yard not only enhances your home’s curb appeal but also provides a pleasant outdoor space for you and your family to enjoy.

Spring yard cleanup

  • Rake up fallen leaves, twigs, and debris from winter storms.
  • Remove dead annuals or perennials that didn’t survive the cold.
  • Prune shrubs and trees to eliminate dead or overgrown branches.
  • Shape shrubs for a tidy appearance.
  • Remove winter mulch from flower beds.
  • Add fresh mulch to suppress weeds and retain moisture.
  • Apply grass fertilizer and pre-emergent herbicide.
  • Overseed thin areas of the lawn for thicker growth.

Fall yard cleanup

  • Rake up fallen leaves to prevent them from smothering your lawn.
  • Trim trees and shrubs to remove overgrown branches before winter.
  • Pull weeds to prevent them from spreading.
  • Clear out garden beds and around shrubs.

About Matt and Becky

Tank’s Lawn Maintenance LLC, a licensed and insured residential and commercial lawn care provider, is proudly situated in the heart of Columbia County, Georgia.

We are dedicated to giving each customer’s property the meticulous attention it deserves. Known for our honesty, punctuality, and strong communication skills, we pride ourselves on our professional demeanor and commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations with the best tools available.

Lifelong residents of the CSRA, Matt and his wife Becky grew up in Hephzibah, Georgia. During his childhood summers, Matt diligently mowed the large acreage of his family property with a Craftsman lawn tractor and tackled neighborhood lawns in South Augusta with a Murray 21-inch mower and a Homelite weedeater.

After high school, Matt worked as a rail car repair mechanic at Hamburg in North Augusta, SC. During the recession of 2009, he was laid off and decided to get his CDL license, which led him to drive for AB Beverage Company in Evans, GA, and later for Sysco Food Services.

With over 20 years in the blue-collar industry, Matt ultimately chose, with the support of his wife and children, to turn his passion for lawn and landscape work from a side job into a full-time career, aiming to provide job opportunities in his community.

While lawn and landscape is Matt’s professional passion, his true devotion lies in his faith and growing his relationship with Christ, as well as instilling Christian values in his three children. Sunday mornings often find him at Stevens Creek Church in Augusta. In the fall and winter he enjoys deer or duck hunting, or cheering for his Dawgs in Athens.

Matt takes great pride in being a hardworking family man who cherishes his country and its founding principles, with deep respect for the military and law enforcement officers.

If you’re weary of pushing that old lawnmower or lugging that rake around your yard, give Tank’s a call. We’re here to make lawn care a breeze.
